Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have likely become accustomed to hearing rumors about their lives in the media. However, sometimes those rumors can be a bit embarrassing. The latest patch of news coming from sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly claims that the royal duo are reducing their staff and looking to pinch some pennies in order to save cash amid an uncertain time in their lives.
Royal Insider reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making some questionable moves as of late, and it’s not going unnoticed. In June, the Sussexes reportedly fired six staff members, including their U.K. press officer, Charlie Gipson, and their U.S. press secretary, Kyle Boulia.
The move has insiders wondering if Harry and Meghan are suffering from financial issues since leaving the royal family in 2020. Royal commentator Louise Roberts recently revealed that the move is a bit of a surprising one by the couple, per Sky News.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Looking To Save Money By Reducing Staff?

โDespite the fact that they live in this huge mansion and got a big wad of cash from Spotify, Netflix and everything else, apparently theyโre having to count the pennies,โ she stated.
โTheyโve got rid of their comms team, which is just insane. Youโd think theyโd go first for the edible flower arranger. Surely their role is limited to an extent, whereas their comms person is rather critical.โ
Despite firing staff members, Harry and Meghan live a very lavish lifestyle. The couple owns a $27 million mansion in Montecito, California. Of course, the home costs them a pretty penny each year. In addition to their $9.5 million mortgage, they also pay about $300,000 in property taxes alone each year.
While deciding to reduce their staff may have been in part about saving money, insiders claim that it’s not just about their finances. The decision was allegedly made strategically as part of the Sussex business empire.
Of course, the internet had plenty to say about the situation.
“If they had gracefully stayed silent publicly, I think they would still get plenty of invites and could just work on their foundation very successfully. But their interviews etc turned them into pariahs. Digging their own grave. Iโm sad for Harry, I donโt doubt his trauma, a great partner might have helped him overcome it and get him closer to the family,” one person commented.
“Just the other day, Markle was boasting about being privileged. Now this. Hilarious. Her timing is always predictably awful and karmic,” another stated.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not addressed rumors about their alleged money issues. However, there does seem to be some plan behind firing several of their staffers.
