Prince Harry hasn’t given up on reconciling with the royal family just yet. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly still holding out hope that he will be able to mend fences with his father, King Charles, or even his brother, Prince William. However, Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, allegedly has other ideas when it comes to the Sussexes’ involvement with the royals, and the couple are now said to be butting heads over the topic.
According to a new report by Closer Online, Prince Harry wants to be able to make some sort of amends with the royal family. Ideally, he would be able to return to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children and spend time there whenever they could. While he reportedly doesn’t want to return to the UK to live full-time, he’s said to be homesick. However, Meghan allegedly wants no part in being in the UK and would be fine with never returning to her husband’s home country.
“Harry is keen to repair relations with his family, but that’s the last thing on Meghan’s mind at the moment. Although Harry doesn’t want to permanently move back to the UK, he has been pushing for a home there that he can visit regularly,” an insider tells the outlet.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Can’t Agree on UK Return
Currently, Harry hasn’t brought Meghan and the kids back to the UK due to security fears. He’s been fighting for better security while traveling in the country. However, so far he’s been unable to obtain his goal. However, the informant revealed that even if Harry were to be able to get what he wanted, Meghan would find a way to keep the family away from the royals.
“Meghan will find an excuse to avoid coming to the UK. Harry is doing everything he can to try to protect his family, but Meghan is unconvinced. Security is, of course, a factor, but she doesn’t feel welcomed by the British people or the royal family, so that has a large part to play,” said the source.
Recently, Prince Harry spoke out publicly about the royal feud, revealing that he believes his father, King Charles, could put an end to it if he wanted to. However, other sources claim that Prince William is standing between Harry and Charles’ reconciliation because he doesn’t want to deal with his younger brother when he eventually becomes king.
Meanwhile, Meghan is allegedly so set against returning to the UK, as sources claim it may cause significant problems between her and Harry. “If it continues, forget the High Court and security disputes – this could end up in the divorce courts.”
It remains to be seen if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will ever be able to return to the UK with their children, Archie and Lilibet. While Harry may have dreams of spending time at a family home, it appears that Meghan is in no hurry to return to the country that holds so many bad memories for her.
