Sources Indicate Harry and Meghan Reached out to Kate Privately
The Daily Mail spoke with ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship, who has explored the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William at length. Addressing how the latest family news impacts the strained relationship between brothers, Ship said his sources indicate Harry and Meghan did reach out to Princess Catherine the day of her announcement.
The two couples, once dubbed the “Fab Four” and seen as the modern future of the monarchy, have had a strained relationship for years. However, Prince Harry, in particular, was close with his sister-in-law in his bachelor years.
A 2017 interview shows Harry calling Kate “the big sister he never had.” It continues:
Harry appeals to her sillier side because he is carefree, footloose and loves banter. He finds things funny about people and says so. Kate also adores the way Harry plays with her children — he is very good with them, a charming big kid and silly uncle.
