Prince Harry might soon find out that his own charity, the Invictus Games Foundation, will be turning against him and possibly forcing him out of his position as its head. This has been a long time coming, though, as donations for charities like Harry’s Sentebale dropped significantly due to the “toxicity of its lead patron’s brand.” And now that he’s no longer involved with Sentebale, Invictus might be next, but this time, it won’t be his own doing that will get him removed from his involvement.
According to Daily Mail Online, Prince Harry is said to have become such a “divisive figure” in the military’s eyes that members of the Invictus Games Foundation believe the Duke is “no longer the help to the charity” like he was in the past. It’s no secret that very few in the Royal Family want anything to do with the wayward prince, and there is no shortage of critics strongly against the Sussexes. With Harry’s marred reputation, the charity is starting to think that it would be best to part ways with him, even if it means by force. And veterans share a similar sentiment.
“Veterans like myself, have nothing but contempt for Harry and Harry’s wife. He is quite the disgrace in our eyes,” remarks an online user. They continue, saying how they have sworn allegiance to the monarch, but Harry’s mistreatment of King Charles and Queen Elizabeth has caused him to lose all respect. “He should resign with immediate effect,” the veteran concludes. Another, claiming to be the wife of a decorated veteran, chimed in, saying that “INGRIFTUS” isn’t at all about the participants but a means to feed Harry and Meghan’s egos and “letting them play working royals.”
Speaking of Meghan Markle, many consider her a primary factor in Prince Harry’s failure with both Sentebale and now possibly the Invictus Games. “One by one, his wife is destroying everything,” says a commenter. A second person agreed, saying that if Harry is forced to resign from his involvement with the charity, it will be for only one reason: Meghan. A third chimed in: “Correct, she was the nail in the coffin for Sentebale.”
To say Meghan Markle is the main villain would be taking away Harry’s accountability in this mess. Still, it’s definitely true that her continuous antics have done little to repair or uplift the Sussex reputation at all, if not the opposite. But since the next games are set to be held in 2027, Prince Harry still might have a chance to slightly turn things in a better direction. His possible interaction with King Charles during the upcoming anniversary of the late Queen Elizabeth could be a turning point. But if history has anything to say about Harry’s past, it’s all talk and no action.
