Prince Harry treated fans to a scary Halloween-themed appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares, screaming and cursing his way through the haunted Maze. This week, the 40-year-old embarked on a trip to New York to honor a lineup of activities taking place during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week.
During his solo New York trip without his wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry attended The Diana Awards, addressing the recipients with a heartfelt speech that honored his late mom. He also attended WHO’s “Every Child Protected” dinner, spoke as a panelist at the Concordia Summit, and honored his engagements with the Clinton Global Initiative, The HALO Trust, and Travalyst.
Prince Harry Braves the Haunted Maze Experience With Jimmy Fallon
The Duke of Sussex had one more stop off-the-records, which has stirred a frenzy across the media. On September 26, the Prince joined Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show as a special guest. However, rather than sit through the typical interview, Prince Harry took a spine-chilling tour of the haunted maze on the show’s special segment, Tonightmares with Jimmy Fallon. The show, which debuted on August 15 has guests walk through 10 spooky rooms on a spine-chilling adventure. The Tonight Show‘s YouTube page explains,
“Brace yourself for 10 spine-chilling rooms that bring Jimmy’s worst nightmares to life with sinister characters and scares around every corner.”
During his episode, broadcast on NBC, Prince Harry surprisingly completed the tour down to the last room, with some of the nightmarish themes and jumpscares managing to spook him out. Before embarking on the spooky ride at the Rockefeller Center, the host asked Harry if he usually got scared to which he replied, “Not normally, but tonight might be different.”
The duke handled the tour exceptionally well, even chipping in quirky commentaries about the nightmarish creatures coming at him while remembering to be chivalrous. He also blurted out curse words occasionally in reaction to getting startled by yet another haunted figure. At the end of the haunted maze experience filled with laughs, screams, and bleeped-out expletives, Prince Harry received one final scare while posing for a celebratory photo with Jimmy Fallon. This prompted the startled prince to throw a pretend punch at the spooky “intruder,” rounding off the chilling, yet entertaining session.
Harry Impresses Fans With Noble Conduct on Spooky Show
Fans have since taken to social media to express their delight at watching Prince Harry let loose on Tonightmares with Jimmy Fallon. One impressed YouTube user commented,
“Harry’s hilarious! Good on Him for Playing along. It’s good to see him laughing, smiling and at ease after all he’s been through.”
Another wrote,
“Did anyone else notice the subtle way the prince would put his arm out to be in front of Jimmy sometimes? Total soccer dad save mode and stand-up man behavior.”
A third chimed in,
“That was hilarious. Good to see him out of his comfort zone.”
Prince Harry’s haunted maze experience with Jimmy Fallon comes as the Duke braces up to face some of his biggest real-life fears in the coming week. The father of two would undertake a solo trip to the UK on Monday as a guest of honor at the WellChild awards in London. His upcoming UK visit comes amid unresolved security concerns, which the Prince has previously cited as the biggest deterrent to bringing his wife and kids to the UK.
While these security fears still lurk, Harry will attend the awards ceremony on September 30 as planned, as the charity remains one of the few patronages he’s maintained since stepping back from royal duties. However, with the tax-payers-funded UK police security still out of his reach, Harry would most likely see to his own security needs as he did on previous visits to his home country.
