Prince Harry‘s paperback edition of the book, Spare, features a touching tribute to Meghan Markle and two other important females in his life. Back in August, the Penguin Random House announced the release of the paperback version of Harry’s controversial memoir in October. The publishing house confirmed that contrary to whispers suggesting otherwise, the edition would feature no added content and everything in the book would remain unchanged. After months of anticipation, the new release finally dropped in the US on October 22, 2024, conforming to the earlier announcements.
As revealed, the book featured no new or edited chapters, as all its contents remained the same, including the dedication. Just like its original version, the paperback edition of Spare contained a heartfelt tribute Prince Harry penned to his wife Meghan Markle. He also acknowledged his son, Archie, 5, their daughter, Lilibeth, 3, and another important woman he held so dear, his late mom Princess Diana. The dedication read,
“For Meg and Archie and Lili…and of course, my mother.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Living Separate Lives Despite Book Dedication
This tribute to Meghan Markle comes amid rumors of a looming divorce between Prince Harry and his wife. Reports from several outlets suggest the Sussexes’ marriage was on the verge of collapse, with one source adding the couple were already living “separate lives,” per Heat World.
Sources have cited Harry and Meghan’s recent activities, particularly their approach to attending public events solo. Notably, since their 2018 royal wedding, and subsequent step back from royal duties, the two have presented a united front pushing their brand as a formidable duo. However, the two have noticeably taken a different approach to their professional lives in recent times, making career moves as solo individuals.
Most notably, Meghan Markle made her red carpet comeback with a bang this month, attending the Children’s Hospital L.A. 2024 Gala in a jaw-dropping red dress that made her the cynosure of all eyes. Royal commentators have weighed in on this stark deviation from her usual style choices, deeming it a deliberate attempt to mark her Hollywood comeback as a solo player, while bidding farewell to her royal past.
On his part, Prince Harry, who discussed his brother’s critical opinions of Meghan Markle in his book, Spare has also made some solo appearances that did not go unnoticed. Last month, he made a solo trip to New York to honor causes dear to his heart including the Diana Awards which took place during Climate Week.
The Duke then jetted off to the UK for a guest appearance at the WellChild Awards, one of the few patronages he’s remained committed to since his royal exit. He also honored a handful of activities in South Africa, supporting the Sentebal Charity. While the talks of divorce remain mere rumors to this point, their commitments to solo causes have sent out a solid message to the world that their professional separation was imminent.
