After sending a private letter to your brother asking to make amends, you’d imagine Prince Harry would be a bit careful with what he says in public about anything related to the royal feud. Yet, it seems like the ex-royal couldn’t control his tongue during his recent appearance at the WellChild Awards, which took place not too long after he visited the late Queen’s grave. During the event, he had a bizarre bit of dialogue with one of the winners, during which he was clearly trying to gaslight a negative answer from them.
A 17-year-old winner at the WellChild Awards told Prince Harry that he had a brother, to which Meghan Markle’s husband asked, “Does he drive you mad?” The boy denied the indirect accusation, claiming that he and his brother get along just fine. But Harry wasn’t done trying to fish out a negative response. “You know what – siblings,” the Duke of Sussex replied before saying, “You’re at the same school, that sometimes makes it more challenging.” It goes without saying that the whole “driving you mad” and “more challenging” comments were doubtless directed at his own brother, Prince William, and while the young winner didn’t fall for Harry’s bait, the sour joke was already out there for the world to see.
“Stop projecting your own sh*t on to somebody else,” commented an online user. They continue, saying it was almost as if Harry was begging the child to say, “Please tell me you hate your brother too!” “He was totally trying to make that kid say he has a feud with his brother too so that he can then go and say see I’m not the problem,” agreed another individual. Hundreds of other Royal fans shared the same sentiment, criticizing Prince Harry for trying to dig into the child’s feelings to get him to admit that other siblings have issues just like him. “As ever, Haz tries to find a way to desperately undermine his future monarch brother in public…” remarks a Redditor.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun that the late Queen would undoubtedly be sad to see the state Harry is in now. “I mean, admittedly, with this charity, fine, he’s supporting it. Let’s hope that that does some good,” he comments. Unfortunately, just because Harry gets involved with a charity doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. Word has it that the Prince is trying to get into cahoots with BBC by donating to its Children in Need and possibly becoming the charity’s patron. No one believes his intentions are pure, as it’s allegedly all just a means to get good press to clear up both his name and Meghan Markle’s to save her brand and Netflix show.
