Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been going through some rocky development ever since its first announcement. The game had been delayed multiple times for different reasons, leading some fans to believe the game was in development hell. But some recent information suggests that the game might be ready for a re-reveal sometime in the near future.

The PlayStation Trophy list for Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time is live on PSN Profiles. This suggests that the game might be in a state to be shown again soon. The closest possibility of a reveal for the game is most likely the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event expected to take place on September 10th.

The Sands of Time Remake was originally announced back in 2020, but then it was delayed multiple times and does not have an official release date at the time of writing. The game was then being developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai prior to the first reveal. Still, with the less-than-ideal reception from the industry, the development was quickly moved to Ubisoft Montreal with the announcement of the delay.

The reveal trailer shows the overall look of the game and some small snippets of gameplay. That alone was more than enough for fans to realize that the game was not what one might expect from a remake like Resident Evil 2. The visuals were the biggest point of contention, and the gameplay seemed mostly the same as the original, which fans were more than happy to point out.

Ubisoft’s Plans For The Sands of Time Remake

Soon after the trailer, Ubisoft announced that the development will be moved to Ubisoft Montreal. The company said that they were proud of the work done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, but the work needs to be continued to deliver a great remake.

Needless to say, since the game went back to the drawing board, Ubisoft announced that it would not be targeting the 2023 release window like before. Ubisoft reassured fans that the development is moving along just fine.
