In the royal family’s custom of handling health issues with secrecy, Princess Anne quietly left the hospital in Bristol and continues to recover from her head injury at home. Last weekend, the Princess Royal sustained a horse-related accident in her estate leading to her hospitalization. Reports claiming Princess Anne had no recollection of the supposed horse accident made the incident even more concerning. Despite fears of prolonged hospitalization to treat the minor concussion, the princess defied the odds and made swift progress.

After a five-day stay at the Southmead Hospital, Bristol, she finally received clearance from her medical team to return home. Princess Anne quietly left the Bristol hospital on Friday, June 28, managing to evade prying eyes all the way back to her Gatcombe Park estate about 30 miles away.

Reports confirming her discharge from the hospital revealed that Princess Anne would continue to recuperate from the head injury at home. Additionally, the 73-year-old would forgo her public duties until her doctors deem it “safe and comfortable” for her to resume work.

In a statement, the Princess Royal’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence expressed gratitude for the care and concern his wife received during her hospitalization. He extended words of appreciation to the Southmead staff saying,

‘I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise, and kindness during my wife’s short stay.”

During her stay in the hospital, Princess Anne had the support of her medical team, other hospital staff, and family members. Her daughter, Zara Tindall was photographed going to the hospital to visit her this week. Tim Laurence also remained by his wife’s side throughout the ordeal. Meanwhile, King Charles, who has been battling cancer for months extended his well wishes to his sister after learning of the accident.
