After a PS4 price drop in the US under two week ago, Sony is now continuing that trend across the pond and slashing its 500GB price in Europe and as far as Australia.
In an October 21st Playstation Blog post, Sony announced comparable $50US price cuts to the overseas countries. Europe and the UK will now be able to pick up the PS4 for €349.99 or £299.99. In other countries:
Australia $479.95. New Zealand $569.95. UK £299.99. Austria and Germany €349.95. United Arab Emirates AED1399.
If there’s been any hesitation to pick up a newer-gen system, this may be the time. Any time a price drop comes across the retail space is a good time I suppose, but with the XBOX One and PS4 now both will lower prices two years into their lifespan, why not? This also may be a move to incentivize gamers to pick up a PS4 despite a lighter exclusive library for the traditional holiday season, most notably missing games like Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End.
