While we all knew the country had its fair share of racist people, most of them are running rampant nowadays. A situation involving these types of individuals occurred not long ago in a hotel in New York, where a couple started demanding a refund on their hotel room, but threw racist slurs at staff members while at it. At first, the couple was feeling confident when harassing the workers, but as soon as they realized they were being recorded, their attitude shifted in a matter of seconds.
Reddit user jt2501 shared their unfortunate experience with this entitled New York couple. According to the OP, the situation began when the couple tried to complain about a seemingly broken toilet seat, which wasn’t damaged at all.
The video shows the man saying, “You shouldn’t be a manager.” Referring to the staff member and then telling them, “Maybe you should go back.” The staff and the entitled couple continue arguing, but then the racist man realizes he’s being recorded, and his face and attitude change completely.
When he notices the other person recording him, he laughs and says, “Really, cra**er?” Which is clearly a racist slur. The man starts walking around, demanding the refund and saying he’ll leave once he gets his money. However, the staff doesn’t want to give the money back to the individual. Furthermore, the acting manager tells him, “Don’t be racist here.” And the entitled man replies with a breaking voice, “I’m not racist.” He even replies by jokingly saying, “Boo, boo, boo,” at the manager.
Trying to justify their actions, the couple starts saying they call each other “cra**ers.” He also claims that his wife calls him a “sp*c.” They both try to pass everything as a joke, but as you can imagine, it doesn’t sit well with the hotel staff.
Nervously, the racist man tells the one filming, “Get over your woke self.” But at this moment, the staff was already getting in contact with the sheriff’s department. Not long after, the couple decided to retreat to their room to pack their bags and leave the building. Additionally, it is uncertain whether the police arrived to help with the situation, but we hope they did because the hotel staff didn’t deserve this type of treatment.
