A Black woman in Portland, Oregon, says she was attacked by a group of white MAGA supporters, an incident she documented in a video shared on TikTok. The woman, who identified herself as Isis, posted footage showing the aftermath of the encounter, which she said escalated after she confronted the group. According to Isis, one of the men sprayed her with bear mace, leaving her with second-degree burns.
In the video, Isis appears visibly shaken and in tears as she shows the injuries to her face, turning her head to reveal the extent of the burns. She also claimed that, following the attack, other MAGA supporters began doxxing her online.
During the video, the woman stated, “I didn’t attack anyone. I didn’t hurt anybody.” She acknowledged that the only thing she did was push the phone of the man who later sprayed her with bear mace out of her face. Touching his phone, she said, should never have resulted in her being left with second-degree burns.
According to Isis, the group of MAGA supporters didn’t stop there. After the mace attack, she said they vandalized her car, leaving a visible dent, and then threw water bottles at her. She also claimed the men went on to harass her online, leaving racist comments under her posts and repeatedly calling her the n-word. In her telling, the situation escalated far beyond the initial confrontation, turning into a sustained attack that left her injured, her property damaged, and subjected to racial abuse.
In a comment, Isis shared additional context, explaining that she attempted to defend herself after the attack. “I did go back I sprayed them with beebees AFTER THE MACE. My face was still burning I was incensed my mind split in half and I was seeing red,” she wrote. She emphasized that she was outnumbered, adding, “It was 6 men against 1 woman and they nearly blinded me.” She also described her physical state at the time, noting that she had just been rinsing her face under a faucet. “I was insane with rage I am not proud of it,” she admitted.
Isis later shared another video, this one filmed by the MAGA supporters themselves. In the footage, one of the men can be seen repeatedly kicking her car while she was still inside. Although the video was muted, subtitles showed the men accusing her of trying to steal someone’s phone, with one man even claiming she attempted to run him over. Isis denied that accusation, saying, “I didn’t try running you over.” Shortly after, one of the men approached her front window and threw water on her.
The video shows Isis exiting her car and arguing with one of the men before turning toward another who continued filming her. At one point, she slapped a phone out of one man’s hand, causing it to fall to the ground. That was when he sprayed her with bear mace. Isis later shared photos showing her appearance before and after the attack.
In the caption, she reiterated that she did not deserve what happened to her. “Yeah I pushed his phone but he wasn’t in danger. I was walking away. He sprayed me with bear mace and left me with 2nd degree burns,” she wrote. She added, “This is not the full story. I did go back in blind rage. I wasn’t thinking straight my face was burning and they were calling me the n word.” Isis also claimed the men continued threatening her afterward and alleged there was footage from their own livestream showing them plotting to hurt her. She included the names of the men she said were involved.
Online reaction to the incident has been divided. Some users expressed support for Isis, while others defended the men. One TikTok creator accused Isis of lying and claimed she attacked the group first with a BB gun. Isis pushed back against that narrative, reiterating in the comments, “I did go back I sprayed them with beebees AFTER THE MACE.” She has since said she plans to share a full account of what happened at a later time.
“I AM NOT PERFECT. But I’m not a liar. I will be telling the full story WITH PROOF tomorrow INCLUDING how I was pushed to the point of insanity, and the actions that followed. My actions was entirely unlike me. The weight of the world was especially heavy on me that day. The actions of these men are proven to be typical. Especially excessive violence and hate crime,” She wrote in her most recent post.
People Reacting to the Orgeon MAGA Group Attacking the Black Woman
The comments under the Oregon woman’s video were either those that supported her or those that believed the men and thought that she deserved everything that happened. “This is a hate crime i’m so so so so sorry,” one person wrote. Another person said, “girl press charges and sue.” Someone else believed that both parties were wrong as they said, “I have gathered enough evidence. She had no right to approach or provoke those people simply because of their political views. While the outcome was unfortunate, the situation was avoidable. Both parties committed crimes. She committed a hate crime and that can’t be overlooked even if it was towards trump supporters. On the other end, they are liable for property damage to her vehicle. Doesn’t matter the color or political party, the law is the law.”
More people continued to weigh in on what happened to the woman, with many criticizing those placing blame on her. One commenter wrote, “People in the comments blaming her are so weird.” Another Black woman echoed that frustration, adding, “Everybody in these comments blaming her is sick. It’s crazy because the YT community be ready to RIDE AT DAWN for theirs. RIGHT OR WRONG. I’m starting to see the difference and it’s part of the reason we are where we are. Prayers to you mama, you didn’t deserve this. This isn’t the time to say what she did wrong. She clearly stated she was not thinking in the moment. Is it really that hard to uplift someone. [Expletive] sad [expletive].”
Isis has since said she plans to press charges. Being left with second-degree burns and subjected to racist abuse, she said, went far beyond anything that could be justified.
