Just because someone is religious does not mean they must automatically be a good person. Across America, there have been many troubling cases involving churches, and recently one particular story from Ohio caught people’s attention online. A Redditor using the name EstellaStarsider shared a deeply unsettling experience connected to Radiant Church Dublin, Ohio, a place she says has failed to take responsibility for serious threats against her family.
According to EstellaStarsider, the pastor’s daughter and another child sent her family threatening text messages on two separate occasions. The messages explicitly stated they would burn down her house at midnight. One of the texts even included a countdown, which made the threat feel even more menacing. Her family endured sleepless nights, terrified, not knowing who was behind the threats. Although the children later brushed it off as part of a “role-playing game,” police investigated the matter and confirmed that the pastor’s daughter was the one who asked the boy to send the threatening messages, using EstellaStarsider’s daughter’s name.
The case eventually went to court, but only the boy involved has been held legally accountable. The pastor’s daughter, according to EstellaStarsider, has faced no consequences. Even more troubling to her, the pastor dismissed the entire incident as “a joke.” She claims he told her this directly over the phone and even to her family’s faces. On top of that, she says the Dublin pastor tried to interfere with the investigation itself, shifting all the blame onto the boy and failing to even mention his daughter’s role in the incident.
Rather than offering accountability or protection, EstellaStarsider says the pastor retaliated against her family for speaking out, painting them as troublemakers instead of addressing the serious harm done to her daughter. She believes Radiant Church Dublin in Ohio has deliberately kept the situation hidden from its congregation, leaving most church members unaware of what actually happened.
The story quickly spread across Reddit, with many users expressing outrage at what happened at Radiant Church Dublin. Some commenters even claimed the church already had a questionable reputation. One person wrote, “This church is a pyramid scheme. Source: My family was once toward the top when this church was known as Northwest Assembly of God, and the land the new church is built on was just a barn we had parties at. My family was dropped when it was financially beneficial too.”
Others came forward to share their own painful experiences with different churches in America, echoing EstellaStarsider’s call for accountability. One commenter wrote, “We feel your pain and wish you luck. We are fighting a Lutheran church. My partner was assaulted by a member of the congregation on our property. We’ve been classified as racist all because we asked for the bass to be turned down. Don’t stop being proactive. Take it above the pastor’s head, call the news, the attorney general, social media. The hypocrisy must be held accountable.”
