The arrogance of Republicans has multiplied over the years, but this is a whole new level, and people are mad! At the Kennedy Center party in Washington, DC, the right-wingers were seen cutting a Greenland-shaped, American-flag-covered cake.
The group of MAGA supporters, all dressed in suits and smiling brightly, posed for the camera as they cut the cake in a TikTok video. “We cut it!” the woman who held the knife declared, while the others cheered and clapped. A voice behind the camera referred to Greenland as the “Fifty-first state.” The Republicans took turns serving themselves cake. A man joked, “I eat the South Greenland, I’m from South Greenland,” asking one of the party goers to cut that particular part out for him.
The clip was accompanied by a caption that read: A group of MAGA congressional Republicans and a Romanian right-wing politician were at the Kennedy Centre serving themselves a Greenland-shaped, American-flag-covered cake. As partygoers gathered around the Stars-and-Stripes-draped cake, one person could be heard saying, “It’s gonna be an international incident,” while another questioned, “Is it like prom?”
However, netizens did not buy into the joke at all. “So sick of USA mind games,” one lamented. “That’s the only way you will get Greenland… When he gets voted out, people will make sure the occult regime gets their karma.” Joking, another user echoed their sentiment, “And that is the only piece of Greenland they ever will get😂”
The country in question. Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, so a concerned citizen spoke up, “As a Dane, Greenland is not your joke, your cake, ot your property. Show some respect.” Many users considered the joke very degrading. One wrote, “This is utterly disgusting and so disrespectful. The USA is officially hated by the world now.” A second one said, “How sick! The US is a failed nation,” and another chimed in, “This is why America is hated.”
Other users focused their anger on the country itself. “Absolutely disgraceful… America is over,” the first one wrote. “The arrogance will be the end of the US,” a second user stated. “America, you are a ridiculous joke…” a TikToker stated bluntly.
One netizen said, “America is the biggest bully in the world.” Another echoed, “This is the same America that says China-Russia is a dictatorship country, but look who really is the dictator in the world.” Someone else brought in Hollywood, stating that they believed that was one of the reasons the country was behaving this way: “Hollywood ruined America, made them think they are the protagonist.” One TikToker pointed out a broader pattern, “This just shows it’s not just Trump. This entire administration needs to go.”
