Ragnarok Origin: ROO is a vivid MMORPG that works to expand the world of the popular Ragnarok Online. It features everything you can ask for, like character and class selection, adventuring, quests, battles, and even friendly play with guilds. Before you jump into Ragnarok Origin: ROO, why not let me guide you along the way? I will help you have the strongest possible start in your epic journey.
Ragnarok Origin Character and Class Guide
Once you dive into Ragnarok Origin: ROO, it will guide you right to the character creation. There’s not much you can choose from besides gender, hair style and color, and eye shape and color. Still, it’s enough that you can add a slight personal touch to your character.
There’s a rather extensive tutorial section you must go through before you get anywhere in Ragnarok Origin: ROO, but it guides you well enough. Soon, you’ll reach the point where you can choose your class, AKA “Job,” and delve deeper into all of the mechanics and story.
Starter Jobs in Ragnarok Origin: ROO
In the beginning stages of Ragnarok Origin: ROO, you have six main Jobs to choose from that determine your class:
- Swordsman
- Acolyte
- Mage
- Thief
- Merchant
- Archer
They all have their distinct uses. For instance, Archers and Mages are proficient at long-range combat and crowd control but shouldn’t get close to enemies as they aren’t that durable. On the other hand, the Thief is ideal at close range, but mostly if they’re stealthy. Swordsman are free to rush into battle as they please, thanks to their strength.
Acolytes are perfect if you want to focus on healing. Meanwhile, the Merchant is a fun class as they throw gold at enemies because they just have that much money. It’s all about choosing what you feel most comfortable with. Before you settle on any one Job, note that there are additional builds that enhance your class.
For example, if you’re a Swordsman, you can eventually level up to a Knight class. They’re stronger and handle weapons like lances and swords even better. Your Archer can develop into a Hunter, mastering traps as well as the bow to take down enemies. You have plenty of time to hone your build to how you want it.
Combat Starter Guide
Combat is a big part of Ragnarok Origin: ROO, and the game does offer an introductory guide to the system. It puts you through several battles in the tutorial. The combat is straightforward enough, though. There are a few different buttons for a basic attack, dodge, heal, or a skill. Play into your chosen class, and the battles shouldn’t be too difficult in the beginning.
One tip I can offer is to pay attention to your health. It’s easy to get caught up in battle, and before you blink, your character is almost down. This isn’t something to get too concerned with at the start, but as the enemies progress in strength, a simple horde can overwhelm you if you’re not careful. Healing and “Play Dead” can save your life, granted you use the two abilities correctly.
Skills and Stats
As the tutorial guides you through the early stages of Ragnarok Origin: ROO, you’ll start the early stages of your combat build with a few skills and stat allocation. Focus on your chosen class when it comes to stats. You don’t want to devote too many points in strength if you have a Mage, for example. You can also use the auto function for both your stats and skills if you wish, but doing it yourself helps you better adapt to a particular playstyle.
Now, when it comes to your skills, consider how you engage in combat. Skills have a cooldown period, so think wisely about when you want to use a particular move. Sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to do a basic attack and save the skills for tougher opponents.

The Thaumaturge Starter GuideQuests and Commissions in Ragnarok Origin: ROO
There are always Quests to complete, as you’ll learn from the tutorial. But you’ll also discover that some lock you out until you reach a certain level. The best thing you can do is tackle the Commissions, especially the Daily ones. As long as you have enough tickets, you can jump into these extra tasks to score some XP and level up so you can continue the story.
They’re rather exciting to complete, too. Some have you wiping out mobs of creatures in stages, which can show off just how well your combat prowess is or highlight that you should get some friends to work alongside. There are even Commissions that simply have you dancing in a fountain with your buddies. Depending on the tasks given, some will have you behave more reactively or passively.
Regardless of the mission in question, it will always indicate if it is quick to complete or time-consuming. This is a great way for you to plan out your journey and whether you have the time (and skills) to tackle harder activities.
Guilds and Friends
In the beginning, you won’t be too involved with Guild operations. However, there is an early quest to join one, and there are plenty to sign up with. Guilds are a great way to make more friends in Ragnarok Origin: ROO and more friends can help guide you to better victories when the battles get tougher.
At Level 16, you can join one or create your own. Whenever you do commissions, you can also earn Guild Hearts alongside the other rewards. These can help benefit your Guild, allowing it to gain funds and grow. There are unique Guild Quests as well as weekend activities like Cooking with other members. A Guild is simply a fun way to explore the game, meet new people, and earn bonuses.
Pet Guide in Ragnarok Origin: ROO
Pets are another excellent way to gain buffs in battle. The moment you unlock Pets at Level 22, you want to take advantage of them. You have to roll for them, but you’re given a free roll daily. Don’t worry, though, as you start with more than enough gacha pulls to unlock several Pets. Ranked according to tiers like A, B, and C-tier, you can luck out and snag a high-ranked Pet from the beginning.
Even if you don’t, leveling your Pet up can allow a C-tier Pet to rank as high or greater than your low-stat B-ranked Pet. To truly improve them, you want to aim for upgrades. They’ll need a lot of their puzzle pieces that you can gain via rolls, but upgrades are the best way to enhance their stats.
A wonderful thing about Pets in Ragnarok Origin: ROO is that they guide you to victory by working together. You can deploy more than one Pet, allowing multiple buffs to improve your battles. Continue further to unlock access to more slots to deploy more of your favorite companions.

Following the main questline will take you to a brief crafting section. You’ll create your first weapon specific to your class.
