The newest character to join the roster for Street Fighter V is Japan’s blonde bombshell, Rainbow Mika. Mika is a quick and agile grappler that uses her professional wrestling move set to beat down her opponents. She will be playable at PAX Prime this weekend in Seattle for the first time. Check out her reveal trailer below:

R. Mika has always been a favorite of Yoshinori Ono, one of the main creative forces behind Street Fighter V. Although she has only ever made one appearance as a playable fighter (Street Fighter Alpha 3), she has also developed a substantial fan following. She initially appears to be somewhat of a troll character, with her outrageous outfits and somewhat silly moves (check out the end of her reveal trailer for her ridiculous critical art), but she has some serious tools at her disposal. She is fast, has some scary command throws, and has powerful mix-ups.

Mika’s V-Skill ability sees her pull out a microphone and start delivering a monologue to pump up the crowd. The longer she speaks, the more powerful her moves become. In true wrestling fashion, she can stop her monologue by throwing the microphone at her opponent in order to restart her offense.

Mika is sick of Cammy as well.

Her V-Trigger ability is where Mika’s moveset really starts to shine. When activated, Mika can call in her tag team partner, Nadeshiko, to attack her opponent. Nadeshiko can strike from the front, above, or behind the opponent. She behaves much as an assist from Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom series would. Calling in a second character for an attack looks like it will provide some very difficult blocking situations for your opponent.

With the reveal of Mika, we now have ten of the sixteen characters revealed that will be on the initial roster of Street Fighter V. Three of the final six characters will be entirely new, while three will be already existing properties. With Mika entering the arena, it shows that Capcom may not just be sticking with the familiar fighters for the remaining spots. Will we see Dhalsim, Blanka, Sagat, Zangief? Who else do you want to see make the cut? Let us know.
