Aniplex has announced that the anime series Rascal Does Not Dream is making a comeback. This new adaptation will continue the story of Sakuta Azusagawa, which began with the 2018 debut of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and its 2019 film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. Aniplex also released a new movie in Japan in 2023 titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether this new adaptation of the University Arc will be a series or another movie for the franchise.

Rascal Does Not Dream will adapt its 8th and 9th Volumes, Covering The University Student Arc

The anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai follows the story of Mai Sakurajima, an actress who becomes invisible due to a phenomenon called “Adolescence Syndrome.” To attract attention, Mai wears a bunny girl costume. This is why Sakuta Azusagawa becomes involved; he is the only one who can see Mai.

Also, Sakuta has many people close to him who suffer from the same syndrome, like his little sister, who is afraid to go out of their home. Now, Rascal Does Not Dream will adapt the University Student Arc, where Sakuta must balance his college life while helping others affected by the syndrome.

But there is other great news for fans of the Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series! Yen Press, the company responsible for the English translation of the books, has announced that they will be releasing them soon.

Meanwhile, the movies cover volumes 6th and 7th, introducing new cases of crazy adolescence and continuing the story of Mei and Sakuta. Fans can look forward to discovering what happens next in this exciting saga.
