With Resident Evil 4 Remake finally being released, we’ll see some great mods tossed around and some not-so-great if you’ve delved into the RE modding scene. With this new RE4 Remake mod, players can take control of Ashley.
Ashley Mod – RE4 Remake
One of the first RE4 Remake mods allows Ashley to become a playable character. While she can be used in short sequences in the vanilla RE4, you can replace Leon as Ashley. And you get some unique animations and voice lines, too!
This new RE4 Remake Ashley mod allows players to switch between two different costumes, a few voice lines, and her very own unique animations. They can be a bit buggy when you’re receiving a radio call or sliding under the door in Chapter 2, but it’s a well-rounded mod for the most part, considering the game was just released a week ago.
Players have been releasing tons of RE4 Remake mods, and modders are dipping their toes into everything CAPCOM’s engine and game mechanics have to offer. Players have even tried to recreate Resident Evil’s iconic fixed camera perspective in another standalone mod. It looks great, don’t get me wrong but practically, it brings a lot of issues, especially during combat.
Despite loads of issues with Resident Evil 4′s current PC port, RE4 Remake is by far one of the best Resident Evil releases and remakes to date. CAPCOM could have gone the extra step or mile and innovated more. But we like to think sticking to their ABCs and delivering an awesome classic experience was more than enough.
