Florida has once again proven it’s in a league of its own when it comes to wild police chases, and this time, Polk County took center stage. A wild 13-second clip making the rounds online shows a black pickup truck attempting to bust through a wall of police cruisers on a Polk County highway, and for a moment, it actually works.
The video opens with at least five patrol cars, blue lights flashing, boxing in the truck on the right shoulder. The driver, however, isn’t giving up without a fight. As the blacked-out pickup edges forward, officers close ranks, forming what looks like an inescapable barricade.
But then, in a move straight out of Grand Theft Auto, the truck suddenly swerves, slipping between two cruisers and darting back into the open lanes of traffic. The driver cuts across multiple lanes as one police car rams into its side in an attempt to end the chase, but the clip cuts off before the outcome is revealed.

Viewers were quick to weigh in, with one commenting, “Florida is a real-life Grand Theft Auto lobby,” while others focused on the county itself. “Polk County?? Yeahhh, you’re not getting away,” one wrote. Another chimed in, “IN POLK COUNTY?!?! oh yea no baby.. bless your heart.”
Some commenters couldn’t wrap their heads around the escape attempt at all. “Why do they do this? You’re never getting out of jail now,” one person said, while another laughed, “Lmao only funny ‘cuz it’s Polk County.”
And, of course, no wild Polk County moment would be complete without Sheriff Grady Judd entering the chat. Known for posting often-humorous yet blunt breakdowns of local incidents on TikTok, fans are already waiting for his take. “Now we wait to see the story on Sheriff Grady Judd’s TikTok,” one user wrote. Another joked, “Grady kicking his feet right now,” while a third added, “I can’t wait to hear what Sheriff Grady Judd has to say about this.”
While the video’s abrupt ending leaves the chase’s conclusion a mystery, if there’s one thing locals agree on, it’s that Polk County deputies don’t mess around.
