It is basic knowledge that parents are supposed to protect their kids from danger, right? There are some instances, however, when they seem to forget that, like recently in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, where two tourists led their kids to a face-to-face with a 1000-pound bison. Yes, you read that correctly. The shocking video was filmed by a photographer named Jennifer Gunderson. In her video, you see two moms walking up to a bison, ignoring a sign that says “Road Closed.”
One of the mothers is holding her toddler’s hand as she leads them next to the bison. The distance between the animal and the kid isn’t large enough to ensure safety. The other mother also walks close to the bison while holding her baby in her arms. According to Gunderson, she was one of the people who shouted at the tourists to stop what they were doing. But they kept moving. Gunderson then decided to take a video in case something happened and police needed evidence. Well, the parents are lucky that nothing terrible took place.
People Reacting to the Yellowstone Tourists
A lot of people came after the parents because they endangered their kids. One person wrote, “This should go to CPS, intentional child endangerment.” Another person warned people that something like this could end in death. “So many people die in Yellowstone NP every year because of this. like yall these are not cows, these are 1000+ lb wild animals that are territorial. Same with Elk in Yellowstone when you get these tourists smh.” The dragging continued as one person came after the mother who was leading her toddler by their hand. “She needs to be arrested and banned for life from national parks.”
The criticism didn’t stop at the two tourists but it was also directed at a person who left a comment saying, “Yall acting like the bison is an active shooter.” People started attacking the commentator as they wrote:
@jakepqfcx5w: “Lmao that bison will kill that kid in one effort”
@You’reNotFast: “Uhm to anger a bison is signing a death warrant and to bring your child close to a wild animal because you think it’s docile is dumb”
@Dean Winchester: “It’s a wild animal? It will kill that child instantly if it wanted to”
The person defending this behavior is definitely wrong. People’s reactions to the situation are also valid because this could have ended badly. Hopefully, someone would warn the two mothers or check on their kids.
