The original Red Dead Redemption might be making its way to PC in the form of a remaster if a PlayStation Network listing is to be believed. This leak comes from an official source, giving it more credence than claims from leakers. The listing specifically mentions the PC version and that this is the first time ever leaving consoles.
Rockstar has not confirmed the PC version yet, but it was still attached to the PlayStation version’s backend. This was likely done as a mistake, but it does give fans some hope for an eventual PC release. Using the Wayback Machine we also noticed that there was no mention of a PC version a few months ago, so this change was recent.
The description also confirms that the DLC expansion for Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, will also be included in the new release. It seems that the 2023 release of Red Dead Redemption is being remastered for PC as it includes all the new bells and whistles like more resolutions, higher framerates, multiple monitors, and spatial sound.
The 2023 release of Red Dead Redemption did not come out on PC, but it confusingly was released on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Fans were not only disappointed due to the lack of a Steam release with the Red Dead Redemption remaster, but also because its performance wasn’t up to par with expectations from such a beloved game.
Hopefully, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption will not have any of the issues that the 2023 release had. The game originally came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010 and finally got a re-release in 2023. As for an Xbox release, we still have no news or leaks on that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 originally came out on PlayStation and Xbox in 2018 and got a PC release only a year later in November 2019. So the original coming to PC isn’t too far-fetched. But still, we should take every leak with a grain of salt until an actual announcement is made.
