According to a new rumor, a Red Dead Redemption remaster is indeed coming, but it will be more of a remake. The claims, made by a Reddit user who says the updated game is going to have new features, some new dialogue, and even an expanded map. The user also claims the title, which has been rumored but never confirmed, is due to come out either very late in 2020 or early 2021.
The user, going by the rather dubious name of u/throwaway11113454, claims to have a friend who is an environment artist at Rockstar Games. This environment artist is reportedly working on both the remastered version of the original game and a new piece of story DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.
The new DLC is said to be launching in the first quarter of 2020 and will be similar to Undead Nightmare in its approach but will be centered around aliens.
New account here: I have a friend who is one of the environment artists over at rockstar (yes I know that is literally what everyone says on this sub, so if you don’t believe me go ahead and leave a mean comment)

The claims are that users will once again take on the role of Arthur to battle an apparent alien invasion. Despite supposedly being slated for release before, Red Dead Redemption Remastered, the details beyond that are scarce. As for the remake of the beloved original, Rockstar has reportedly had voice actors come back and record new dialogue.
The new dialogue will reportedly help tie the stories of the two games together a bit better. The dev team is also said to be importing several new features from RDR2 into the remake as well as expanding the map a bit.
All of this was planned to be ready for release, according to this user, for the 10th anniversary of the original, but bugs and lack of manpower led to the apparent delay until the end of next year at the earliest. At this point, it’s important to point out that Rockstar has not come close to verifying any of this so it should all be taken with an entire shaker of salt. Rumors about Red Dead Redemption 2 were indeed abundant before its launch and most were later proven to be unfounded.
