Devolver Digital is having quite the year. We’ve seen the well-received Carrion and the mega-hit Fall Guys. There was also the more lukewarm reception to Serious Sam 4, but we’ll skip over that. Now, the quirky publisher has announced its latest game: Reigns Beyond. The hybrid card decision-em-up, slash RPG, is the latest in a series of delightfully odd games.
Reigns Beyond, But Not Beyond Exclusivity
We don’t yet know much about Reigns Beyond, but Devolver has given us some details. Abandoning the ye-olde king setting we saw in previous games, this entry will follow a rock band. Not just any old rock band though! You will play as an intergalactic indie rock band. Traveling from planet to planet and building up your fanbase (and presumably trying not to vent them out of airlocks). We also know that it will be exclusive to Apple Arcade. This is a series first for the Reigns series, though it does fit the quirky niche Apple Arcade seems to be targetting.
There’s no word on a release date yet, though Devolver does mention that it’s coming soon. Would it be too optimistic to hope for a release this year?
A Sequel, My Kingdom For A Sequel!
Navigate the cosmos as an intergalactic indie rock band, plotting their rise to stardom, traveling from gig to gig on their quest for fame and fortune.

Reigns Beyond will join some esteemed company soon. The original Reigns was released back in 2016 and immediately became an indie darling. The sequel, Reigns: Her Majesty followed in 2017. Finally, the particularly well-received Reigns: Game Of Thrones came out in 2018. All of these games have gone on to be seen as indie gems. As a side note Reigns: Game Of Thrones is arguably the only good thing to come of out post-2016 Game Of Thrones. Here’s hoping that Reigns Beyond lives up to the standard set by its predecessor.
