Remedy Entertainment had a bit of a rocky year, especially with the release of FBC: Firebreak. However, that Bureau won’t be stained anymore, as Control Resonant has finally been announced. This time, however, it seems things are much worse than in the first Control, as the new calamity has left the Bureau, and it is up to Dylan to solve this crisis. And guess what? You won’t have to wait too long to play it because Control Resonant is set to release sometime in 2026.
Control Resonant Launches in 2026
If you missed the mind-bending trailer, we are finally getting Control Resonant, a follow-up to the beloved Control. However, things are much different now. Instead of following Jesse Faden, we’ll now take control (no pun intended) of Dylan, Jesse’s brother.
For this supernatural rodeo, Dylan will help the Bureau handle a crisis in Manhattan. And he will do so with a slick action-adventure moveset, which is unlike anything we’ve seen in previous Remedy Entertainment games.
The enticing thing about Control Resonant is how it describes itself as an open-ended action-RPG. According to the official information, there will be a lot of branching missions that players will be able to tackle in any order. This is a first for the series, but it seems fitting given the gameplay approach the game is taking.
Another standout from the trailer is Dylan’s new weapon, the Aberrant, which can shapeshift into different things, like a big hammer, gauntlets, and other supernatural-hunting things. So, it seems that Control Resonant is moving away from Jesse’s playstyle to deliver something unique for Dylan.
At the time of writing, there isn’t an exact release date, but we all know that the game is launching sometime in 2026, which isn’t that far away. We don’t know how long we’ll have to wait, but the fact that it is coming next year is already wild, and we can’t wait to dive into supernatural Manhattan.
