What bittersweet news today. On the one hand, I’m extremely excited for the free boss rush mode coming to Remnant 2; on the other hand, its third and final DLC is also coming, which means the end of an era is upon us. This news makes me extremely nostalgic, as N’Erud was the first planet I got in Remnant 2, and The Dark Horizon DLC taking us there feels like close. Nostalgia and bittersweetness aside, though, I couldn’t be happier, especially with the release date for all these updates being closer than we thought.
On September 24, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 players can enjoy the boss rush mode and The Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2. The former is free, while the latter is a premium DLC, which means it’ll cost. According to the official site, the DLC will cost $9.99. However, if you already own the DLC bundle, The Dark Horizon will be included.
In terms of gameplay, the official reveal mentions a trip to N’Erud, where we’ll delve deeper into this alien necropolis. Furthermore, a new class looks to be joining the game. There aren’t a lot of details about this archetype, but it already has a Destiny 2-looking Ghost, and I’m all for that.
For those who don’t want to experience the final DLC just yet, Remnant 2 is also launching the boss rush mode for free on the same day. There will be different difficulty options, such as the Triple Threat mode, which is a three-boss rush, or The Gauntlet, which includes a whopping nineteen-boss rush. As you fight, you can obtain buffs to help you in this ordeal. The greatest thing about this mode, though, is the possibility of obtaining items you might’ve previously missed during your runs.
Overall, this is one of the biggest updates for Remnant 2, and anyone looking for an excuse to grab their Travelers again should start preparing. Remember that everything will go live on September 24, so mark your calendars and dust off those weapons because it’s alien-beating time.
