Where to Find the Cog for Village Mill in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The Village is the very first location you see in Resident Evil 4Â and probably one of the most iconic locations of the whole series as well. If you go to the shut portcullis and from there take the right turn, you will enter the Mill.
This Mill is missing a cog or gear that is preventing it from working. Drop down from the mill mechanisms and reach the shut portcullis once again. From there, head straight and then turn left to the first barn you see.
The door to this barn is shut, so you have to use the scaffolding on the side of the bar to climb and then jump in it via the window. Drop down to the ground and you will be able to see the missing cog for the village mill.
After you’ve got the cog, an enemy will barge into the barn which leads to the door being broken and available for use to you. The best strategy to face this enemy in this location is to use the ladder to go upstairs.

This way you have the high ground and as the enemy is trying to climb up, shoot it until it dies. After that go to the mill mechanisms and add the cog. After that, the mill will start working and the shut gate will be open for you to progress through the story.
