Julia’s Wife Was Diagnosed With Double Cancer
The Real Housewives of Miami star Julia Lemigova’s wife, Martina Navratilova, was recently diagnosed with two forms of cancer. Martina announced on Monday, January 2, that she is battling both throat cancer and breast cancer. The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion will start treatment next week.
The former professional tennis player revealed when she first noticed the signs of cancer. Martina said that she first observed an enlarged lymph node in her neck while attending the 2022 WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, in November.
The 66-year-old went in for a test, and biopsy results showed stage 1 throat cancer. She went in for further testing, where doctors discovered she had stage 1 breast cancer.
“This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome,” Martina said in a statement to the Women’s Tennis Association. “It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all I have got.”
RHOM’s Julia Lemigova Is Positive About Cancer Prognosis
Meanwhile, Julia Lemigova is optimistic about her wife’s victory. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out to share words of support,” Julia captioned an Instagram photo of herself and the retired tennis player with their dog on Monday.
“Together, we will fight this ♥️,” she added.
Many of her castmates on RHOM encouraged her and sent their love in the comments.

Martina was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She underwent a lumpectomy and beat it, but it returned recently. However, the tennis player and her wife, who got married in 2014, are positive about her chances.
Martina also told the WTA that she received a good prognosis this time around. Nevertheless, she will no longer work the 2023 Australian Open for Tennis Channel as originally planned.
Fans are joining the couple in prayer for Martina’s full recovery. Thankfully, they have each other to lean on. Hopefully, they can weather this storm and emerge victorious.
