Teresa Giudice and Jen Shah are two Bravolebrities who will have prison sentences on their record. However, RHONJ‘s Teresa Giudice got candid about co-star Jen Shah’s sentencing on Wednesday’s episode of her Namaste B$tches podcast. There, she insisted that she “can’t relate” to Jen’s prison sentencing because the nature of their crimes was different. Read on for more details.
Teresa Giudice And Jen Shah Are Being Compared
For RHONJ‘s Teresa Giudice, who is being compared to her RHOSLC counterpart, being on that end bothers her. The best-selling author insists that she and Jen are not the same – despite both being Real Housewives stars who’ve had to go to prison.
“I can’t relate to that [Shah’s sentencing] because I would never do something like that, you know?” she said to her co-host, Melissa Pfeister.
Jen was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted elderly people. The comparison made Teresa argue that her 11-month stint behind bars differs much from Jen’s upcoming six-and-a-half years.
The Bravo star explained that she was locked up for innocently signing papers that allowed her ex-husband to commit fraud. Meanwhile, Jen defrauded hundreds of people, specifically the elderly.
The DWTS alum reiterated that she would never steal from people because it is a terrible thing to do. She emphasized that it bothers her to be compared to Jen because, unlike Jen, she was actually innocent. She noted that all she did was “sign papers that Joe [Giudice] told me to sign.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star continued saying that her kids knew she was innocent. She further questioned Jen’s response if her kids asked her why she stole.
Jen Shah Pleaded Guilty In Court
Teresa Guidice’s comments come less than a week after Jen Shah was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for wire fraud.
Jen, who initially pleaded not guilty, changed her plea to guilty just days before she was set to stand trial. The embattled star faced up to 14 years behind bars but luckily got less than half of it. She also got her sentencing postponed twice. She eventually received her jail term on January 6.
Jen also apologized to her family and the victims and acknowledged that she “hurt innocent people” during her sentencing. The reality TV star was arrested in March 2021 amid filming RHOSLC Season 2. She is set to begin her sentencing on February 17.
