As the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah heads to prison to commence her 78 months-long sentences, she has some set goals she hopes to accomplish during her stint behind bars. Inclusive is her desire to emerge on the other side as a better person, having made restitution for her crimes.
Ahead of the sentence, which commences on Friday in a correctional facility in the Texas region, Jen’s attorney Priya Chaudy issued a statement detailing those aspirations and her commitment to seeing them through. The statement, released to People, read:
“Jen Shah’s resolve to make her victims whole and to turn her life around is unyielding. She is committed to serving her sentence with courage and purpose, fueled by her desire to make amends for the hurt she has caused and to help others in her new community.”
Priya’s statement further stated that no obstacle would deter the reality star from making the most of her time in prison. Additionally, she remained determined to make restitution “to those whose lives she has impacted.”
Jen Shah Headed For A Challenging Path As Prison Sentence Commences
While her hopes for the future seem well thought out, Jen understood that the path ahead held many challenges. However, even in the face of those challenges, she knew she could always rely on the love and support of family and friends to face them head-on. And at the end of her prison sentence, Jen Shah hoped to emerge from the experience as a better person, impacting others positively.
Recall that Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were initially arrested in March 2021 for their involvement in a telemarketing fraud scheme. At the time, the two pleaded not guilty, but her assistant reversed her plea months later. After maintaining her innocence for months, the 49-year-old eventually pleaded guilty during a July 2022 court hearing, having accepted a plea deal.
Since then, the star has expressed remorse over her past actions, and her intentions to make amends. With her prison sentence finally upon her, Jen Shah has her chance to do just that, with her laid-out resolves serving as a guiding light.
