Right-Wing Texas Talk Show Host Thinks He’s a Better Musician Than Bad Bunny: ‘You Pointing to His 24 Listeners Has Me Crying.’

Conservative confidence is unmatched

The Super Bowl Halftime show has sparked recent controversy online. A TikTok making the rounds this week skewers conservative Texas talk show host Joe Pags after he took aim at Bad Bunny’s halftime show performance, positioning himself as the superior musician.

The video, posted to TikTok by user rogainelettuce, is edited with hilarious timing, stitching together clips of Pags dismissing the global superstar’s artistry while insisting that he himself is a knowledgeable musician, saying he “was very successful at it.” The video cuts to OP pointing to Pag’s monthly Spotify listener count, a whopping 24. In case the 24 listeners didn’t cement the video’s point, the following clips, which alternate between Pag’s criticisms and his own music, surely do.

The contrast is brutal. On one side, Bad Bunny – one of the most-streamed artists on the planet, known for selling out stadiums. On the other, a Texas talk show host insisting his musical ‘credentials’ give him authority, while the internet impolitely disagrees.

Commenter’s Reactions

Unsurprisingly, the comment section has become a comedy showcase. TikTok user Nikki-charmed1 summed up the collective reaction perfectly: “You pointing to his 24 listeners has me crying.” Another commenter, NerdThatTalksGood, nodded to TPUSA’s joke of an ‘All-American Halftime Show’, saying, “Pretty sure he was the fifth headliner at the Trump-or-Treat Halftime Show.” Meanwhile, user k.b.sheldon focused on the sensory experience of Pag’s music, adding, “Thank you for the subtitles. I had to watch on mute after the first .5 seconds.“

The video poster is silent throughout, but not much needs to be said. By juxtaposing Pag’s unwarranted confidence with the reality of his musical output, the video lets the joke land on its own. If nothing else, it’s a reminder that confidence is not the same as talent, and the internet will always check your receipts.
