Daisy Jones & the Six has taken the world by storm recently, and leading star Riley Keough – otherwise known as Daisy Jones herself – has just shared news on how her real-life husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, will appear in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video miniseries. Riley, who has been married to Smith-Petersen since 2015, has described her husband’s cameo as “hilarious” amidst remaining tight-lipped about what his actual appearance will be.
Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and daughter of recently-deceased Lisa Marie Presley, will star as Daisy Jones in Daisy Jones & the Six, the co-leader of a fictional 1970s rock band. The Amazon Prime series, based on a book of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reed, will follow Daisy, her co-leader Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin), and her bandmates as Daisy Jones & the Six rise through the complicated world that is the LA music scene to become one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, only to dramatically fall apart at the peak of their success. Riley was first cast as Daisy Jones all the way back in November of 2019, with former Hunger Games star Sam Claflin joining in February 2020.
Riley Keough’s Husband to Cameo in ‘Daisy Jones’
Appearing on the red carpet yesterday for the series premiere of Daisy Jones & the Six, Riley made her first public appearance following the death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and shared some interesting details about how her real-life husband is going to be making a surprise appearance in the show. According to Riley Keough, the show’s producers – which include Reese Witherspoon – approached her with an idea for her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, to have a cameo in the second episode of the series, but she isn’t saying what the cameo will be just yet.
“I don’t want to like spoil it, but the producers thought it would be funny if he was in that scene,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “They were like, ‘Do you want Ben to do this?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s hilarious.'”
Riley Keough has been married to stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen since 2015. The couple met on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road in 2012, where Riley starred as Capable; they would begin dating a year later and were engaged in 2014, according to PEOPLE Magazine. Riley Keough and the cast of Daisy Jones and the Six are being very tight-lipped about what kind of cameo Smith-Petersen will be making in the Amazon Prime Video series, but we’re excited to see what it is all the same.
Daisy Jones & the Six will star Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, and Josh Whitehouse, among other names. The series, created by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, will be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, Brad Mendelshohn, Lauren Neustadter, Will Graham, and James Ponsdolt alongside Neustadter and Weber.
Don’t forget to catch the premiere of Daisy Jones & the Six on Amazon Prime Video on March 3rd, 2023.
