Chris Hemsworth’s roast, funnily delivered by his friend and costar Robert Downey Jr., has left fans in stitches. On Thursday, Chris Hemsworth received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star and got one of the funniest tributes from his Avengers costar — Downey Jr played Iron Man while Hemsworth starred as Thor. While Iron Man attended the ceremony for Thor, he still made sure the other Avengers actors made an impact on the event, bringing along with him a list of roasts from other Marvel costars.
On Thursday, Hemsworth received one of the biggest honors — a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. For the ceremony, a lot of big names availed themselves, and Downey Jr. wasn’t an exception. In fact, the actor paid tribute to his friend and employed the help of other members of the Avengers to give the muscular Chris Hemsworth the perfect roast. He revealed that he asked his Marvel co-stars to describe Hemsworth in three words. “First off, Jeremy Renner says, ‘Absurdly annoyingly amazing.’ Mark Ruffalo came in strong with, ‘Friend from work,'” Downey Jr. said.
The 59-year-old then paused while the audience laughed. “Oh, that’s a callback. Now I get it,” he said to Hemsworth, referencing a fan-favorite joke from Thor: Ragnarok. Furthermore, Downey Jr. revealed Scarlett Johansson described Hemsworth as the “sensitive leading lady.” Next, the icon shared the ultimate Chris Hemsworth roast from Chris Evans. “Captain America calls him, ‘Second-best Chris,'” Downey Jr. noted.
What Does Downey Jr. Think of Hemsworth?
After revealing the other Avengers‘ roasts, Downey Jr. shared his own three words. He brought it to the moment at hand, describing Chris Hemsworth as a “Hollywood star recipient.” Elsewhere during his speech, Downey Jr admitted that describing Hemsworth was somewhat daunting.
However, he let the man of the hour know how important he was to him and others in Hollywood. He described the Australian as a man with a depth of soul, adding that it had been a pleasure knowing him. Meanwhile, Hemsworth’s new movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will be available in the cinemas soon, and fans can’t wait.
