With there being over 40 different units in Roblox Anime Defenders, trying to test for the best ones on your own is next to impossible, and that’s where our tier list comes in handy. Every unit has its strengths and weaknesses, so when you’re trying to wipe out waves of enemies, it’s important to bring the best team to the party. Keep in mind it isn’t always about damage in Anime Defenders; in fact, that’s an easy way to lose. You need a good backline, too, like crowd control and gold generators.
Anime Defenders: S-Tier Hero Units
- Bloomer: Offers no damage whatsoever, but her ability to farm gold is awesome.
- Carp: Arguably the best AOE unit. His range is massive, and the damage is jaw-dropping, even without a good trait.
- Chance Taker: What makes Carp great is exactly what makes Chance Taker so good. High AOE damage, range, and
- Curse Prince / King: Insane bleed damage and especially powerful with crit. You’ll need Curse Prince/King to prevent some bosses from regenerating health.
- Elf Wizardess / Hero: Second-best AOE unit, especially once you’ve evolved her to Elf Hero.
- Flame Dragon King: Similar to Curse Prince, but only with burn damage.
- Pink Rockstar: Who wouldn’t want a 20% damage buff to their units? She also farms gold!
- Pro Gamer: Dishes out some of the highest amount of damage in a short amount of time.
Anime Defenders: A-Tier Hero Units
- Admiral of Ice: Essentially a better, more damage-oriented Clay. Great AOE damage that also slows units.
- Ant King: Although Ant King’s AOE damage is great, he does get outclassed by Esper.
- Cursed Fighter: Great support unit. He’ll debuff enemies so they take more damage.
- Esper: High AOE damage. Also has the handy ability to hit units behind him as well as in front. His range is also better than Ant King’s.
- Clay: Really cheap AOE crowd control that slows enemies. Pairs well with high-damage units.
- Sharpshooter: High range and damage. However, she only truly shines when she has a critical strike trait like Precision.
- Skull Warrior / Paladin: One of the better mythical units with high damage and AOE. Excellent choice for getting you through the story.
Anime Defenders: B-Tier Hero Units
- Admiral of Lava: Essentially a lesser version of the Flame Dragon King. Good burn damage for story mode.
- Admiral of Light: Long-range AOE unit with respectable damage (but rather low for a legendary unit). He’s a little slow, though.
- Dragon Slayer: Great early-game burn unit. He’s only an epic, meaning he’s easier to obtain.
- Fire Leg Master: Solid early-game unit. He’s fast, does AOE damage, and eventually upgrades to deal AOE burn damage in a line!
- Inferno Commander: Really good AOE burn unit that’s perfect for wiping out units at choke points. His range is his biggest weakness.
- Maxed Qi Master: All-around solid unit. He has good range, damage, and is relatively cheap to upgrade.
- Shinobi Form 3: Good damage and great range, too. He has this nifty orb attack that deals AOE damage, then detonates a second time to deal more.
- Strongest Swordsman: Solid single-target damage with relatively short cooldown.
- The Beast: One of the best early-game units for AOE damage and is only an epic, so you’re chances of getting The Beast are pretty good.
- Thunder Shinobi: Really good damage overall, but because that’s all he brings to the table, other units with crowd control or special abilities outclass him.
Anime Defenders: C-Tier Hero Units
- Straw Hat: Barely makes it to C-tier, honestly. Decent damage with really cheap upgrades.
- Frost Reaper: Attacks in a line. Respectable damage if you place her in the front row.
- Spirit Hybrid: One of the best units for single-target damage in the first few chapters of story mode.
- Black Leg Master: Damage isn’t anything to write home about, but notably better than any D-tier unit.
- Ascended Qi Master: Good enough damage to get you through the second half of Windmill Village.
Anime Defenders: D-Tier Hero Units
D-tier units are, for the lack of a better word, pretty garbage. Their damage is either too little, outclassed by others, or just too expensive for very little gain.
- Clown Pirate
- Salamander
- Krill
- Pirate Hunter
- Shinobi
- Cursed Nail
- Soul Reaper
- Qi Master
- Pink Shinobi
If you happen to get these units in Anime Defenders, it isn’t the end of the world. They’re good enough to get you through a few chapters of the story, but that’s it. You can just repeat chapters to make enough gems and unlock better units.
