Sure, you could simply beat up players and Roblox NPCs with your barefists in Hunter Era, but it’s much more fun to use your Nen. They often grant bombastic powers that deal incredible damage to a target or even large areas, but some Nen grant temporary buffs, like Meruem’s Immortal ability and self-healing. It’s good to be on the up-and-up when it comes to the best Nen in Hunter Era and knowing exactly how your Nen compares to the rest is important. And if you happen to have one that’s low on the list, you can always spin for a new one!
S-Tier Nen in Hunter Era
With these Nen being S-tier, they are hands down the best in Hunter Era for both PVP and PVE. If you manage to get your hands on one, despite its 1% chance, then you’re set for life. They’re incredibly powerful, which goes without saying, and offer unique skills.
Gon (Legendary)
Arguably the best Nen in Hunter Era, there’s Gon. If you like throwing out big AOE attacks and devastating your opponent with ludicrous damage, this Nen is for you. Sure, technically speaking, Gon doesn’t have a stun, but it doesn’t need one. Gon Fatal, the ultimate attack, is just as good as a stun since it locks your target in a cutscene. They can’t do anything!
Meruem (Legendary)
The Meruem Nen is raw damage incarnate just from the Meruem Rose and Meruem Expansion abilities alone. While the former is a narrow beam of energy, Meruem Expansion deals thousands of damage in a massive area.
More importantly, Meruem is the only Nen that grants 50% damage reduction for 24 seconds, so it’s useful for grinding bosses and PVP.
Killua (Legendary)
Not only does the Killua Nen deal exceptional damage, it earns its S-tier status for its speed, making it another option for PVP. Killua Whirl is so fun to use and very cinematic (the screen flashes with energy as you pummel your target) and Killua Godspeed greatly enhances your speed. Killua also has a handy passive that essentially turns your dodge into a teleport.
A-Tier Nen in Hunter Era
It wouldn’t be accurate to categorize A-tier Nen as middle-of-the-road but rather just a half-step below S-tier. And since you have a 10% chance of spinning an A-tier Nen, they’re far more easier to obtain and honestly what you should shoot for.
Hisoka (Epic)
Hisoka is the kind of Nen you want if you love going all in. Its blend of big AOE attacks and single-target abilities make it incredibly useful in PVE, since it makes it easier to farm experience and yen. Hisoka is also phenonomal in PVP because of Hisoka Arena, which is a large AOE stun.
Kurapika (Epic)
Kurapika is more or less a much better version of Leorio, except you’re swinging around a chain and all your offensive abilities are AOE as well. You even have the best self heal in Hunter Era.
Kurapika’s best trait is its combo potential with Kurapika Trembling, which is a stun. Use that and Kurapika Spin and you can keep your target locked up for a good while.
B-Tier Nen in Hunter Era
B-tier Nen are by no means the worst in the game; in fact, they’re a tier or two above the worst. It just so happens that these are the last two Nen and they’re both pretty solid.
Uvogin (Rare)
Uvogin is one of the more interesting Nen in Hunter Era due to its stat requirements. Unlike the rest of the Nen in the game, you don’t boost your Nen stat to unlock more abilities, but rather your strength. That means you can use your strong M1 attacks to dish out a bunch of damage while your Nen abilities are on cooldown. It’s actually a solid counter against Nen builds!
Leorio (Common)
Leorio gets bonus points for being a well-rounded Nen with some healing abilities to keep you topped off. The downside is that plenty of Nen do Leorio’s job better, like Kurapika, and deal much more damage in the process.
With that said, the abilities deal decent damage, have short cooldowns, and the self and ally healing is pretty helpful. It could be worse!
How to Change Your Nen
If you’ve been saddled with a Nen that doesn’t match your expectations, you can spin for a new one in Hunter Era. You’ll need to first speak with a Nen Master:
- Travel to Whale Island. It’s the very first island you start on in Hunter Era.
- Find the Nen Master on the third landing of town, standing outside a building near a fountain. If you see the Academy, you’ve gone too far.
- Speak with the Nen Master and ask to reroll your Nen.
Now, you can’t do this forever. Right above the reroll button, you’ll find the number of spins you have. You can get more by using Hunter Era codes or buying them in-game using yen!
