Kody Brown wants to give monogamy a chance, but Robyn Brown isn’t sure she can grasp that. In the final part of Sister Wives: One on One, the couple shares their feelings on moving forward in a monogamous relationship versus the possibility of adding sister wives to their family dynamic.
Robyn Brown Expressed Hesitance and Uncertainty About Monogamy
Robyn admitted having mixed feelings after committing to building a plural family with Kody. She had hesitations about ending up in a monogamous pairing.
“It’s weird. To be loving and respectful to Kody, I want to say yes but I just don’t know how this works exactly,” she explained. “It’s weird. I feel like it’s disrespectful.”
That feeling of disrespect also stems from the fact she hasn’t had an off-camera heart-to-heart about it with Christine, Meri, or Janelle.
“I need an off-camera, to my face [conversation] because I don’t know. How it feels is like it’s disrespectful to his kids,” she explained through tears. “It feels disrespectful to the commitments that I made.”
Robyn added,
“My commitment to them, to their kids, to Kody about this family is not broken. And I don’t know how to break it. I don’t know how to be done with it.”
Janelle Brown Pointed Out Kody’s Increased Interest in Monogamy
Janelle was asked about what she thinks the future holds for Kody and Robyn now that she, Christine, and Meri have moved on from the plural marriage. She also said she felt the two would stick with just each other.
“He’s now talking more and more about, ‘As we move forward into monogamy.’ So, I think that’s where he’s headed,” she told host Sukanya Krishnan, going so far as to bet the host money the two wouldn’t add another sister wife to the family.
“I do not foresee it. If I did, I’ll bet you $1,000 right now and you come find me. If he does, I will give you $1,000.”
She later added,
“They have found something together at this stage of their life that seems to be very deep and I think it works. And that’s okay.”
