About the ROCCAT Kain 100 AIMO Gaming Mouse
Design and Feel
After two years of development, ROCCAT produced a mouse with a great ergonomic build that fits very nicely in your hand. The rubber-like material located on the sides helped keep a grip which is useful when playing a game.
Rubberized side panels are integrated directly into the shell of the mouse for maximum durability.
If I were left-handed, this mouse would not be my choice as it is designed for right-handed people.
The hybrid anti-wear coating helps with durability and resistance to dirt which lengthens the pristine look and feel of the mouse even after hours of gaming.
The Titan Click is an optimized mechanical overhaul that resulted in what ROCCAT claims is “the perfect click.” The hinged buttons have a low-tolerance spring that cushions every click.
The design of the split-button and the switch location seems to keep you from hitting the wrong button. Overall, the placement of the controls/buttons on the mouse are designed well.
The customization limitations may be a negative to some as the ROCCAT Kain 100 AIMO gaming mouse only has two customizable buttons. For me, this is not relevant, however, for others, this could be a deal-breaker.
Performance/Durability
The Titan Click enhances the performance of the mouse with its intelligent algorithm in the Kain’s firmware. The mouse clicks will register up to 16 ms faster. I need all the advantages I can get when playing a game against someone!
Developers improved the design of the mousewheel click with the Titan Wheel 2.0 resulting in defined and responsive scrolling steps.
With the Pro-Optic (R8) optical sensor and its 8500dpi, the aim and tracking were right on target.
The durability of the build and the mechanics provide a mouse that should last up to up to 50 million clicks.
RGB Lighting
The mousewheel area has RGB lighting and LED effects that are customizable in 16.8 million distinct colors.
Pricing and Availability
The ROCCAT Kain 100 AIMO Gaming Mouse is available on their site for $49.99 and currently, Amazon is selling it for over $60.00
Verdict:
Can I say this mouse has a feature that makes it “the one” for me? I cannot. However, I do not have anything majorly negative to say about it. It is a nice, solid gaming mouse with great mechanics and adequate RGB lighting features. It performs well, it feels nice and it would be a great choice for anyone (besides left-handed users). The price is affordable and comparable to others. Overall, this is a great product.
