Rocket League has a few licensed vehicles in its stable: the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future and the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Brands like the NBA, Hot Wheels and many others also have licensed content in the game. In a partnership with Universal Studios and Dodge, Rocket League developer Psyonix is bringing another licensed vehicle to its soccer-on-steroids game: Dom’s Ice Charger from the upcoming The Fate of the Furious film. The Fate of the Furious is the eighth film in the over-the-top action series that began back in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. In the upcoming film, series staple Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) drives a heavy modified Dodge Charger. Soon, you’ll be able to try to replicate your favorite outrageous stunts from the film in the Rocket League arena.
The DLC, like most of the game’s premium car DLC, will release on April 4th and cost $1.99. That will buy you the Ice Charger, the premium wheels for the car, and six exclusive decals. The DLC will be available on that day for all systems: PC, PlayStation 4, and
The Fate of the Furious is the eighth film in the franchise and will release ten days after the Rocket League DLC. It is the first film since the third, Tokyo Drift, that will not star Paul Walker. Walker died in 2013, while Furious 7 was still in production.
There’s no telling which is more unrealistic: the flying, jet-powered cars of Rocket League, or the drivers of the Furious franchise battling with a submarine. Either way, Dom’s Ice Charger will be on the scene.
