Wonder Woman star Connie Nielsen joins Kaley Cuoco for Role Play, an upcoming high-concept thriller with The Big Bang Theory star leading with David Oyelowo (Selma). Bill Nighy also stars, who replaced Billy Bob Thornton. The latest news of Nielsen joining the cast was originally reported by Deadline.
The film follows Cuoco and Oyelowo, a married couple discovering secrets about each other’s lives. Nighy is a stranger who comes into their lives, stirring things up further. Details on the role of Connie Nielsen in Role Play are under wraps.
Thomas Vincent (Possessions) is directing the film. George Heller came up with the idea for the film and will executive produce. It was written by Andrew Baldwin (The Take) and went to Seth Owen (All Nighter) to pen the main script that will be put to film. Studiocanal finances with Amazon distributing through the U.S. and some international territories. Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona will produce with Cuoco. The film is in production in Berlin at Studio Babelsberg.
Connie Nielsen joins Kaley Cuoco in Role Play
Role Play is in line for Connie Nielsen as she prepares for two other future projects. She completed the drama Tonight at Noon, led by Chiwetel Ejiofor. She will star in the upcoming series The Dreamer: Becoming Karen Blixen.
Recent years have been good for Kaley Cuoco and Connie Nielsen. Cuoco wrapped the second season of her HBO series The Flight Attendant, which she executive produces. The actress was in The Man from Toronto and will reprise her role as Harley Quinn for the animated series’ third season. Nielsen was in the DCEU as Hippolyta in both Wonder Woman movies and both cuts of Justice League. She also recently starred in I Am the Night, Nobody, and Close to Me.
Role Play has no release date, but when it does, it will be on Amazon Prime Video.
