Having celebrity parents is not affecting Rooney Mara‘s son with fiancé Joaquin Phoenix. The toddler is enjoying their full attention, on the other hand, his mother feels privileged. Mara and Phoenix may like to keep things a little private, but fans know that they are one of Hollywood’s power couples who have remained thick as thieves.
The adorable duo met on the set of Her, with Mara playing the actor’s ex-wife onscreen. In 2016, they reunited on the “Mary Magdalene” project. Shortly after working together, their friendship blossomed into an indestructible romance and in 2017, they went public after attending Cannes Film Festival
2019 marked their engagement year and what followed was the birth of their child, River. Rooney Mara’s son was named after her fiancé’s deceased brother. Despite becoming parents for the first time, Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix have joined forces to set the perfect example for their young son. Here is what Mara shares about their parenting.

Rooney Mara’s Son Is Growing In a “Creative Household”
Rooney Mara’s son is two years old, and his mother is still as excited as when she first set eyes on him. While speaking with her sister-in-law, Rain Phoenix on her “LaunchLeft” podcast, she talked about motherhood. At first, Mara was not sure how to handle the responsibility of being a first-timer, but she secured help from experienced mothers.
In the end, she became efficient and began to enjoy the process. When asked how she felt as a mom, she chimed “I love it. I love it so much. I think it’s the best thing in the world.” Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix also had their home shaped in a dynamic way for their son. She continued:
“Basically since we’ve been together, I only worked one or two times, and one was really small and short. It feels like a creative household, we’re constantly talking about creative things.”
Though Mara and her beau have not confirmed their marital status, many believe they tied the knot secretly as the actor called her “wife,” in an interview, last year.
