A new update to the official The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom website may have just revealed that the game will be receiving DLC sometime in the future.
Tears of the Kingdom DLC Only Playable With Full Version of the Game
The official website for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has recently been updated with some new information, following the most recent trailer for the game. One among those has taken the most immediate notice by fans and mentions the possibility of the game receiving some sort of DLC expansion at some point in the future.
A statement at the very bottom of the website claims that the “full version of the game will be required to use the DLC. Sold separately.” Nintendo has yet to make any official confirmation of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom receiving any form of DLC.
While some fans seem unsure as to whether this is an error referring to the DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, most seem to be believe it is for Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo previously confirmed that Tears of Kingdom used to be conceived as DLC for Breath of the Wild before the team decided to expand their ideas into the scope of a full, brand new game.
Whether this supposed DLC will come in the form of two content packs like with Breath of the Wild is unclear. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass includes two DLC packages: The Master Trials and the Champion’s Ballad. Both of these can be purchased via the Nintendo eShop now.
More information on the possibility of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is expected to shared following its release date of May 12, 2023.
