Ken has reached a major goal. Ryan Gosling has always dreamed of climbing the iconic Warner Bros. water tower on the lot of the Hollywood studio. Thanks to Variety, he has been able to go to the home of the Animaniacs (seen below). As a kid, Ryan Gosling got the idea of climbing to the top of the water tower by watching the ’90s cartoon. It “planted some seed” in him, leading to the thought about “what making movies was like.”
And I think it planted some seed in my head. That’s what making movies was like: The lot was just your home, and you wander in and out of Western sets, and you can hang out in the water tower.

Behind Ryan Gosling Going to the top of the Warner Bros. Water Tower
Variety did something different for its big cover story of the La La Land actor. The star asked the outlet if, for the photo shoot part of their interview, he could “do something no one has done in years” by getting to the top of the tower. With the assistance of a cherry picker and stuntman, Chris O’Hara, who worked with the star on his upcoming movie The Fall Guy, he made this dream a reality.
It may seem brave, but he was terrified of the experience. He said that his “whole body turned to stone.” He “had no control over” his body. But it was for a good reason. He wanted to climb the tower when he was a teenager, trying to get his career momentum. Then, he tied again for La La Land. Now, he was able to have the opportunity to conquer, or at least temporarily subdue, his fear of heights.
