Sacramento Cop Smokes Seized Fentanyl in the Station & ODs While Partially Nude: ‘Maybe We Should Treat Criminal Cops Like Criminals’

A police officer from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department was caught red-handed using the very narcotics his police department seized and inside the station itself. Further reports have also indicated that the aforementioned Sacramento cop was a chronic methamphetamine user, only he didn’t expect what he smoked to be fentanyl.

The info came from a recent investigative report, courtesy of Fox40.com and the incident actually happened back on October 24, 2023. The investigation documents, however, were discreetly released by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Sacramento Sheriff’s Deputy Marvin Morales was the police officer in question who stole some of the seized narcotics in the evidence lockers in his police department and smoked what he thought was just crystal meth. Later, it turned out to be fentanyl, which caused Deputy Morales to overdose and collapse in the police station’s bathroom stall.

Luckily for Morales, another deputy spotted him collapsed, with genitals exposed in the station’s bathroom stall while still partially wearing his police uniform. Morales’ colleague then scrambled to administer several doses of Narcan to revive him and shortly after, the unconscious deputy was taken to the hospital.

Earlier, before Morales’ overdose, he conducted a “suspicious person stop” and managed to seize what he thought was methamphetamine in a tin foil along with a glass pipe. Morales was unaware that the substance was fentanyl.

Regardless, Morales tested positive for methamphetamine in blood and hair samples, and the latter test indicates a chronic use of the substance, meaning Morales was already an avid user of meth even before his fentanyl overdose at the police station. The fentanyl overdose incident has since prompted a widespread investigation into the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Morales was Fired Despite Attempting to Resign

In his defense, Morales reportedly blamed his depression and that the fentanyl overdose was supposedly a suicide attempt. However, the hair sample test and the chronic methamphetamine use– as well as his state during his collapse in the bathroom stall, made his defense shaky.

The police officer was then fired from his position despite his attempt to formally resign. Morales was fired in 2024 and has been decertified by California POST, meaning he can no longer work as a peace officer in the state of California.

While Morales’ situation has been dealt with, many US taxpayers online are still worried about the state of the current police system in California, specifically in Sacramento. One Redditor even claims that Deputy Marvin Morales has stolen evidence a few times and used it.

Another one suggested that criminals should be treated as criminals and not as cops, especially after they committed the crime and were found guilty.

“That’s Deputy Marvin Morales, from the Sacramento County Sheriffs. He’s apparently stolen evidence a few times, and probably smoked it,” according to u/BeenDills47

“Maybe, hear me out, maybe we should treat criminal cops like criminals and not cops after they crime?” suggests u/KaiserSosai
