Similar to the “Wanted Level” of Grand Theft Auto V, Saints Row features a mechanic known as Notoriety, which determines how many hostiles will spawn nearby the player’s position. As one might expect, having a higher Notoriety means that the number of enemies pursuing the player will also be higher. Of course, some might enjoy the challenge or prefer to have more mobs to mow down with their weaponry. On the other hand, having too many enemies within the area at once could impede players from completing an objective or reaching a destination. Accordingly, knowing how to remove Notoriety in the 2022 reboot of Saints Row is essential.
Removing Notoriety In Saints Row
To remove Notoriety in Saints Row, players have two options. The first and more straightforward method is escaping the pursuing hostiles. Naturally, this feat is easier said than done, but when the Notoriety level is low, the protagonist should have a much easier time evading incoming enemies.

According to Gamepur, another way to remove Notoriety in Saints Row is through violence — wiping out every faction-related enemy within the area. Of course, this approach sounds counterintuitive since aggressive players will increase Notoriety and attract more hostiles. However, as players defeat each wave and the hostile forces begin to wane away, players will eventually have all their Notoriety removed, and the on-screen notification “Notoriety Cleared” should appear. Nevertheless, Saints Row fans are only encouraged to use this technique as a last resort, as clearing out any entire enemy brigade is usually not worth the effort or time.
Conversely, evading enemy attention is not as simple as driving in a straight line in the opposite direction. Players will need to make sure the enemy loses sight of them by switching roads, going over hills, and turning around buildings. The AI in Saints Row is not the brightest, yet they are still capable of tracking the player character relatively well, especially when the Notoriety level is high. Therefore, the course of action that players should take should depend on their Notoriety and how confident they are with combat. If Notoriety is low, it is best to just quickly leave the location, but if Notoriety, then fighting might be the best option to remove the threat level in Saints Row.
Saints Row is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
