It’s official, Guardians, The Witness’ reign of terror is finally over. As confirmed by Bungie, Parabellum was the team that delivered the final blow to The Witness in Destiny 2‘s newest raid, Salvation’s Edge. The surprising thing about this is that the players behind this victory weren’t even among the favorite ones in the race. A team of well-coordinated Guardians in a private stream broke a record and dazzled the whole community with this tremendous achievement.

Guardians make their own fate.

Congratulations to team Parabellum on the world's first clear of Salvation's Edge!

The team members are Astro, bravo, DrakathShadow, Ham, Jake, and Tyraxe. After an 18-hour fight, they managed to beat Destiny 2‘s final boss, bringing this long journey to an end. Other competitors in this race were baffled after learning this because, as we mentioned, Parabellum wasn’t even amongst the ones people were hoping to win. Still, it is great to see these small teams take the spotlight in events as big as this one. However, it might be a bit bittersweet for some. As you know, that’s the “end” of Destiny 2, at least its 10-year-old story arc. But, just like Parabellum became the light of hope in these dark times, Bungie has something else for all Guardians.

Besides the clear of Salvation’s Edge in Destiny 2, the developers have announced a showcase focusing on the game’s future. Despite the latest expansion being fresh out of the oven, Bungie isn’t slowing down on updates. So far, The Final Shape has been great and has brought many things fans have been asking for years. A new progression system, class abilities, and the long-awaited fight against The Witness. Overall, this is a great time for those who’ve been around in this legendary game.

If you want to catch the showcase, you can head to the game’s official YouTube channel on June 10 at 8:00 AM (PT). What it’ll include is still unknown, but the description says, “It all begins with a single step.” So, this might be the start of a new story arc, a large upcoming update, or something else. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Still, it is great and a bit nostalgic to see an era come to an end. However, we know Guardians will keep fighting. Destiny 2 features a vast galaxy, and whether you want to do raids like Salvation’s Edge, collect rare weapons, or just get that perfect build for your class, there’s always something to do in this MMO.
