Fast food interactions have become a huge part of the internet landscape. Whether it’s funny viral moments, Karens taking a stance against something they believe is wrong, or even fights happening in or around chain restaurants. However, this latest social media encounter out of Texas may be one like no one has ever seen before, and it definitely has the internet divided.
The TikTok video is a bit different than you may expect. Instead of being filmed by someone witnessing the interaction, it was actually filmed by the person initiating the situation. The clip, shared by user @momentswiththemorgans, went viral with more than 4 million views, and had plenty of people talking.
The video starts off with a woman going through the drive-thru at her local McDonald’s. After ordering, she greets the young man working the cash register and then tells him that she shouldn’t have to pay for her food. The teenager looks very confused by her words, revealing that he could get his manager if there was some sort of conflict.
Texas Woman Confuses Teen McDonald’s Worker With Comments About Jesus Paying For Her Food
However, the woman doesn’t want the employee to get the manager. Instead, she tells him that she doesn’t think she, or anyone else for that matter, should ever have to pay for anything, and the reason is that Jesus already paid for everything for everyone.
“Do I have to pay?” she asks the worker. “Yes, Ma’am,” he says, looking a bit worried about what’s to come. “I shouldn’t have to pay,” she adds. “Like, none of us should have to pay.”
“Who?” the employee asks. “None of us,” the Texas woman repeats. “Who is us?” he asks again. “None of us should have to pay,” she says again. The teenager has a bit of a smirk on his face, and honestly looks at the woman like she might be crazy.
“It’s in the word. It’s in the bible,” she goes on. “I shouldn’t have to pay right now. Cause Jesus paid it all. He died for our sins, you know?” she continues. For his part, the employee remains respectful. He stares at the woman, adding in small comments such as “Oh” and “Right.”
“We’re free. He saved us. So, I shouldn’t have to pay, right?” she says again. “I think you still have to pay,” the teenager says before they both begin laughing.
“He does not get paid enough for this,” one person said in the comments. “He not in the mood,” another agreed. “He wanted to laugh,” a third person pointed out. “He’s just a kid,” a fourth comment read.
It seems that the Texas woman wasn’t really trying to start any drama. However, others on the internet was thrilled with her preaching at a kid who was simply trying to do his job. It’s obvious religion is important to her, but not everyone may feel the same way. In addition, she may eventually run into someone who isn’t as easygoing as the young McDonald’s worker.
