Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew have a pact to remain true to each other, but the prevailing rumors about them are far from it. The Duchess of York became a royal in 1986 when she walked down the aisle with Queen Elizabeth II’s scandalous son Prince Andrew. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1996, leaving them to co-parent their two daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Over three decades later, the pair continue to share a home, neither remarrying.
Royal observers believe the pair have drown increasingly closer as the years go by, and could possibly give their marriage a second chance. The Duchess of York have come forward to establish that marriage was not in the cards for them. During a sit-down with Bella Magazine, Sarah Ferguson debunked the rumors of her possible remarriage to Prince Andrew, divulging,
“I get asked that all the time. We are very happy as we are now, thank you!”
Despite severing her marital ties to Prince Andrew decades back, Sarah Ferguson has continued to endure the spotlight associated with being a royal. The 64-year-old admitted that while the spotlight had its perks, it also comes with its fair share of challenges.
Sarah proceeded to address other claims about her flying around the media over the years, most of which arose from mere rumors. The Duchess shot daggers at the rumor mongers, describing their claims as “Nonsense.” Asked about the most ridiculous of these rumors, Sarah Ferguson quipped,
“Goodness, quite a lot of nonsense has been written over the years. One of the worst headlines was ’82 per cent would rather sleep with a goat than Fergie.’ It’s never left me.”
Rumors notwithstanding, Sarah Ferguson remains firm in her decision to always stand by Prince Andrew, even as he experiences his “darkest times.” The Duke of York has been nose deep in a scandal relating to his alleged sexual misconduct and ties with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Sarah reaffirmed her decision to support him regardless, as she promised his late mom, Queen Elizabeth, that she would. With two daughters also joining them, the Duke and Duchess of York certainly have every reason to stand by each other through thick and thin.
