Savannah Chrisley Explains Why She’s Come to ‘Expect the Worst’ in Julie Chrisley’s Case

Savannah is uncertain about what the future holds

Savannah Chrisley is preparing for a very emotional month ahead. The reality star has been trying to hold down the fort for her family as her parents, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, serve their respective prison sentences. With Julie’s resentencing slated for next month, there’s a lot on Savannah’s mind.

Savannah opened up about this on a recent episode of her Unlocked podcast. The 27-year-old shared that she has dreams about her mom coming home.

That’s the only dreams that I’ve had recently. It’s just her coming home and her being at home to the point that, like, I wake up and I’m kind of, like, disoriented. I’m like, ‘Wait. What is happening?’ Because it feels so real.

Julie is currently serving a seven-year federal prison sentence at FMC Lexington for bank fraud and tax evasion. However, she is being resentenced in September after courts agreed there were inconsistencies in the timeline of Julie’s involvement in the financial crimes.

While in part, Savannah is ready for her mom to come home, she’s also trying to be realistic about the road ahead.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up because, let’s face it, a lot of things within this legal battle have not gone our way. So I expect the worst, and anything else that is better than that is a win.

Of course, getting Julie home is only half the battle. Regardless of what happens with her resentencing, there’s still Todd Chrisley. Todd is currently serving a 10-year sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida. Appeals in his case have not been as fruitful, and the family themselves have admitted the road to a resolution there has been less successful thus far.

Savannah Is Considering Her Own Future, As Well

Savannah Chrisley has been clear that navigating this legal process with her family has been transformative for her. It has given her direction for her future.

Noting that her social media followers had been asking about possible political aspirations since the Republican National Convention, Savannah says her focus is more on helping others than politics.

I want to be known as someone who has changed people’s lives. I want to be known as someone who has made lasting change, and again, this is not a Democrat-Republican thing. I just I know where my heart’s at, and I know the things that I want to see happen, and I’m gonna have to be working with people on both sides of the aisle to hopefully come to some common ground when it comes to criminal justice reform as a whole.

Savannah has found herself at an unexpected place in life. However she chooses to move forward, she’s likely to have both supporters and critics. It seems like the reality star does her best to tune out some of that noise and focus on family. That focus will hopefully only get easier with time.
