Savannah Chrisley is calling out the conditions in the prison where her mom is serving time. In a recent episode of Unlocked, Savannah shared an update on mom Julie Chrisley. She explained that Julie, who is serving her 7-year sentence at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington in Kentucky, recently got sick due to conditions there.
Savannah explained that like many areas of the country recently, Kentucky endured a heat wave. The heat index reached “105-110 degrees” in the area. Of course, that heat is difficult under any circumstances. Savannah then notes there is no air conditioning in the prison itself. Though they enjoy the AC when in the visitation room, prisoners are otherwise required to deal with the heat themselves.
It can be 100 degrees inside the building. She literally said that she got physically sick because she got so hot. So, you have these women who are suffering from heat exhaustion and theyโre passing out. But yet, thereโs service dogs that have air conditioning. None of it makes sense to me.

It is so beyond inhumane that you cannot make it up. And itโs tough. Mom is super excited for visitation because she got to be in an air-conditioned room. It makes me realize how much we take for granted. How we just walk in a place and itโs air-conditioned, and thatโs the normal. Unfortunately for these men and women, itโs just not, and itโs really tough to hear those struggles.

Savannah Spoke About Her Parents During Her RNC Speech
Many Chrisley Knows Best fans and others familiar with the reality TV world were shocked to see Savannah Chrisley on stage at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
During her speech, Savannah made it clear she believed that the government unfairly targeted her family. She claims that her parents were “persecuted … due to our public profile and conservative beliefs,” per Deadline.
Savannah also made the case for how Donald Trump has experienced the same. Taking jabs at Fulton County prosecutors โ as well as Hunter Biden โ she continued to defend the Republican candidate. Savannah, who has shown her admiration for the former president before, likened him to her folks. She even told the audience her family was jokingly called the “Trumps of the South.” She asserted they wore the label proudly.
