Savannah Chrisley is having an emotional time dealing with her siblings amid her parents’ federal appeal. Todd and Julie Chrisley, the parents at the heart of Chrisley Knows Best, are in prison. Julie is serving a six-year sentence, while Todd serves ten years for tax evasion and fraud. The couple’s legal team are appealing their criminal convictions. A recent court date, where Savannah allowed 18-year-old brother Grayson to attend with her, turned into an emotional scene inside and outside the Georgia courtroom.
Savannah Says Grayson Felt ‘Traumatized’ By Being Back In Court
Of course, it’s difficult for the Chrisley children to see their parents in courtrooms and jails. On an episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, she recapped the appeal hearing experience.
Grayson wanted to be there so badly. I gave him the option of coming because I did not want to force something that maybe he wasn’t ready for and he insisted he be there.

After the hearing was through, Savannah says Greyson had a “full-blown panic attack.” She believes he has “PTSD revolving around being in a courtroom.”
Grayson Says His Parents Being In Prison Is Worse Than Them Dying
On another episode of Unlocked from summer 2023, Grayson Chrisley appeared with his sister, explaining why having incarcerated parents was proving particularly challenging.
To me, [them being in jail] is worse than them dying. Because they’re here, but they’re not here. So it’s just time that’s being wasted. I’m saying, like, if they died, there’s no possibility of you getting any more time with them. So it’s over.

The teen has had a difficult time, though he’s powered through and shown appreciation for his sister stepping up. Grayson and Chloe Chrisley are both in Savannah’s custody for the duration of their parents’ time behind bars.
The Siblings Say Their Parents Will Continue To Fight For Their Freedom
The Chrisleys aren’t giving up on being back together sooner than the courts say. Savannah Chrisley recently shared her optimism, regardless of the outcome of this particular appeal.
On the podcast, Savannah said that no matter what, the family has “other avenues to take.”
Once again, like, super grateful for that, that there are other avenues due to how our trial played out that we could take to get a new trial or to you know just hopefully get them out early.

The Chrisleys are determined to fight. Looking ahead to family time together is enough to keep everyone going through their personal hardships as the situation continues to unfold.
