On TikTok, a mom of three from Dallas, Texas, recently shared a frightening experience she encountered while shopping at a Walmart store late at night that made her fear for her safety. According to her, she had gone to the store around 8 p.m., and while it wasn’t crowded, there were still a few shoppers around. As she walked down an aisle alone, another woman suddenly entered the aisle, brushed against her, and gave her an unsettling “sinister” smile that immediately made her feel uneasy.

DFW ladies, please watch out for these people! Many of the “seekers” are young females to make you feel more trusting. Always have your eyes peeled and TRUST YOUR GUT! Stay safe!! #traffickingawarenes #safety #payattention #kidnapping #dallas

The stranger didn’t appear to be shopping and continued following her from aisle to aisle, even pulling out a phone at one point, as if to take photos or record her. Alarmed by the other woman’s behavior, the mom texted her husband to tell him that something felt wrong and that she believed she was being followed.

She Tried Asking for Help Inside the Store

The woman approached a Walmart employee to report what was happening, but when they turned to look, the stranger had vanished. Not knowing what else to do at that moment, she tried to continue her shopping and convince herself that the situation had resolved.

However, this was short-lived because when she headed toward the checkout, she saw the same woman standing near the only open exit. One of the store’s entrances had been locked for the night, leaving just a single way in and out of the building. The mom described feeling instant dread at that moment, especially because there were no employees or security staff around. “There’s nobody by the exit. There’s no employees anywhere to be found. So I’m like, oh my God, what am I going to do?” she recalled. As soon as she approached the exit, the other woman perked up and got on her phone.

She Followed Her Instinct Instead of Going to Her Car

The woman said that as she left the Walmart store, she immediately felt strongly that she should not walk to her car, believing that God was warning her to change direction. So instead of heading straight into the parking lot, she quickly turned left and began walking along the side of the building. The stranger made the same sharp turn behind her, which confirmed her fear that she was being followed deliberately.

Thankfully, she spotted a group of five or six people outside the store and ran to them for help. After explaining the situation, the group stepped in immediately to support her. This caused the other woman who had been following her to turn back and disappear into the store.

Still concerned for her safety, one person in the group called a friend, who drove up in an SUV and offered to escort her to her car and follow her out of the parking lot. When they reached her vehicle, they noticed two suspicious vans parked nearby with their fog lights on. The mom believed that it was a sign that if she had walked out alone, the situation may have ended badly for her.

Netizens React to the Dallas Woman’s Scary Experience

Many viewers said her instincts likely protected her, with one writing, “That is so so scary. I’m so glad God was there telling you what to do and that those amazing people were there.” Someone else commented, “Glad you’re okay. It’s so crazy out here.” A few also shared their own safety habits. “I always pray Psalm 91 before I head out,” one person mentioned. Another added, “I have pepper spray, and I keep bear spray in my car in a ziplock bag.”

Others focused on identifying the stranger. “It would have been good if you got HER photo. Terrifying experience! So glad you are safe!” one comment read. Another suggested, “Did you call the police or talk to Walmart management to get the video footage? They can run those vans and that lady!”
